O let your heart be whole with God! Seek your happiness in Him and Him alone! Beware that you do not cleave to the dust! “This earth is not your place.” See that you use this world as not abusing it; use the world and enjoy God. Sit as loose to all things here below, as if you were a poor beggar. Be a good steward of the manifold gifts of God; that when you are called to give an account of your stewardship, he may say, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant, enter thou into the joy of they Lord!”
“Enjoy God!” John Wesley says.
What do you enjoy doing? Your work? (Hope so.) Playing golf? Watching football? Having dinner with the whole family around the table at night?
Do you enjoy your significant other, being with that special person, doing life with that special person?
There’s so much to enjoy in life, and how blessed we are in this country to have so much and so many things to enjoy and the freedom to enjoy life to the max.
But Brother Wesley urges us to enjoy, of all things, God!
Use the world to your pleasure and joy, being careful not to abuse it.
And just enjoy the joy ride with God.
Enjoy God! That’s a fascinating thought if you sit with it a while.Advertisements
