I never understood how someone could play the bass and not get their fingers rubbed raw. I suppose the fingers get toughed up with practice. Some real talent here.
I took a guitar lesson about 100 years ago and seem to remember my fingers hurting a big on the steel strings but toughening up on it. So I wonder if that’s not true of any string instrument. I dunno.
It would make sense. I can see it hurting for awhile, though. The closest I ever came to playing a stringed instrument (or any instrument) was taking a guitar pick and dragging it sideways up and down the metal strings of an electric guitar. Made a nice rasping sound.
