After a week of political quotations and revelations that made me feel the need to scrub and shower the sleaze off, I needed the kind of story that makes me go “Wow”–in a good way–to share.
Earlier this year, a Danish woman and charity worker in Africa, Anja Ringgren Loven, encountered a naked, starving toddler, riddled with worms, abandoned and left for dead by parents who believed he was a witch.
Loven saved his life and adopted him, naming him “Hope.”
The before-and-after pictures here tell the rest of the story–the kind of story that makes you go “Wow!–there’s hope for this broken world!”
For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me.”
