Your Prayer of the Day for the world of forgotten people oblivious to the political mud wrestling in seats of power that keep our eyes off of them and them locked into worlds of neglect and pain and the twin pains of isolation and loneliness: that is, the homeless in the streets, the despised inmates in the jails, the folks in nursing homes, the refugees and innocent victims of violence from London to Tehran.
Lord, open our eyes that we may see you in our brothers and sisters.
Lord, open our ears that we may hear the cries of the hungry, the cold, the frightened, and the oppressed.
Lord, open our hearts that we may love each other as you love us. Renew in us your Spirit.
Lord, free us and make us one.
Amen.”
