Stephanie Garcia, with her mom and little Miss Belize, at Steph’s graduation Tuesday Monday from St. Andrew’s Anglican School. She’s been accepted to St. Ignatius High School, a Catholic School, which is expensive for a lot Belizeans like her.
I’ve started a GoFundMe account for the high school education of a young lady in Belize who is very special to me.
Stephanie Garcia is the big sister of my beloved daughter Ludy Paulita McKay. Although I’m officially the father of Paulita–Miss Belize, as I call her–Stephanie and the girls’ brother Felix are like my own children to me as well.

Miss Belize, Paulita McKay, who moved in fast on a boy at her sister’s graduation. Lordy, Lordy. That’s my girl.
Stephanie just graduated from what is the American equivalent of 8th grade. She’s always struggled mightily to make her grades, but she completed the mandatory six years of school and has been accepted to enroll in a Catholic High School.
She’s motivated to get a full education, to go all the way to college now. That’s quite a lofty goal for a girl who had to repeat a grade only two years ago.
She’s a wonderful, well-mannered young lady and I’m trying to raise funds for her further education.
Understand, there is no such thing as any free, public education in Belize. (In fact, come September, I’ll be paying $25US a month for Miss Belize’s pre-school learning on top of Felix’s annual single payment tuition of $150. Since she’s about to turn 4 on July 29, she’ll be going to school every morning for half a day and is excited about it!)
Please go to the link here if you’d like to help Stephanie with her education–and keep her and her family in your prayers, por favor.
